NEWS FROM LYYN™
VideoRay now available with LYYN Inside™

Following the successful introduction of LYYN T38™ to VideoRay users, there are many witnesses to its usefulness. However, since one of the strong points of the VideoRay ROV is its portability it introduced extra equipment necessary to carry around.

"We have had several requests from users to have LYYN™ inside our products, and since LYYNs recent introduction the LYYN Hawk Board™ I am happy to say that this is now available." says Chris Gibson, VideoRay Director Sales & Marketing.

We wish to welcome ECO-LINE France to our dealer network.

ECO-LINE France is an Antibes based representative and distributor for many well known manufacturers of subsea equipment, including cameras and ROV's.

Underwater Inspection in Lieu of Drydocking, by SeaVision Marine Services

SeaVision Marine Services LLC recently completed two UWILD inspections on vessels operated by one of the major off shore support vessel companies in the Gulf of Mexico that are homeported in the brown waters of Port Fourchon. We used two inspection class ROVs from SeaBotix, in which the Integrated Control Console was equipped with LYYN™ image enhancement boards.

"The LYYN™ visual enhancement was critical to the overall performance. Even after traveling thirty miles off shore we only had about 5 to 8 feet of visibility, but the LYYN™ unit really helped to clear up the imagery" [more]

Humans have x-ray eyes!

Were you one of those kids that dreamed what it would be like to be Superman? Flying was the big thing, but that x-ray vision, well that wasn't to bad either.

There are nowadays many personal flying devices, so that is being worked on, but what about vision?

Now, a new study from a scientist at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute make a case that two forward facing eyes that commonly thought were for 3d vision are in fact evolved for x-ray vision! If you think about how your eyes work they you will understand

Forward facing eyes evolved because of a busy or cluttered environment. Not only was it important to see how far away something was but also what existed around and behind obstructions. So our eyes and brains evolved to literally see "through" obstructions.

Demonstrating our X-ray ability is fairly simple: hold a pen vertically and look at something far beyond it. If you first close one eye, and then the other, you'll see that in each case the pen blocks your view. If you open both eyes, however, you can see through the pen to the world behind it.

TADA! another step closer to superman!

The eyes of some animals have evolved to point in the same direction. While animals with forward facing eyes lose the ability to see what's behind them, they gain X-ray vision, which makes it possible for them to see through the clutter in the world.
